Still Life Painting

Service Description

Primary Colours is a fully stocked and functional Art studio. All materials and the use of the studio's equipment is included in the cost. A healthy snack will also be provided during this workshop. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are on site and there is a plumbed water trough dedicated to art mess. First Aid is on site and Andrew is a fully qualified, registered, and practicing teacher. STILL LIFE Still Life painting is usually quite technical. The artist is generally trying to capture the set up in front of them as accurately as possible. They'll try to match the composition, the colours and the shapes of the objects in front of them. It doesn't have to be this way, but it often is. In this workshop there will be an element of the above mentioned process. We will sketch and plan our paintings, discuss things such as proportion and negative space before tackling the painting itself. The students will use acrylic paints on a stretched canvas for the main part of this workshop. There will be plenty of time given so that the students don't feel rushed and they will receive plenty of technical assistance throughout the workshop. But, this workshop is not about capturing the objects placed in front of them, it's about creating an interesting picture, learning a few tricks, and having fun while doing so.
