Oily Tuesdays in February: ABSTRACT

Service Description

Oily Tuesdays are a semi-casual, semi-regular oil painting group that want to spend some time in a social setting experimenting with oil paints. The sessions are semi-structured. There will be a focus as well technical advice and guidance by Andrew, a trained artist and teacher with over twenty years teaching experience. We will cover composition, painting medium and brush choice, the process of oil painting, glazes and much more. The themes vary from one three week block until the next. Still life, portraiture, landscape, and maybe abstract, will be investigated in this group. All materials, paints, a series of canvases of various sizes for this particular workshop, are included in the price. Snacks, tea, and access to the kitchen are also included. The sessions run for two hours each - 7-9pm. There are three sessions in a block before the next theme is introduced. We will work on the one painting for three weeks before moving on. These are fun, friendly, and social sessions and great way to take your mind off the outside world for a couple of hours. Plus you'll learn new skills and get a brilliant painting to take home at the end! You can't lose. I hope you can join us.
