ART ALL DAY! Portrait Party

Service Description

This is a whole day Art making program. A lunch of up to two hotdogs per student, a juice box, and healthy snacks throughout the day are included in the cost. Protective clothing is supplied as well as drinking water. There's no need to provide anything! Primary Colours is a fully stocked and functional Art studio. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are on site and there is a plumbed water trough dedicated to art mess. First Aid is on site and Andrew is a fully qualified, registered, and practicing teacher. The day usually consists of: 9am-12pm: morning session - beginning work and Art games. A snack and a short break 12-1pm: lunch - included in the cost if selected - and a longer break which may, or may not, include watching a short film or appropriate TV shows 1-4pm: afternoon session - finishing work and Art games. A snack and a short break. PORTRAIT PARTY This whole day workshop will be a mix of art games and formal portrait painting. In the morning we will play many drawing games that revolve around, but not strictly focussed on, the human face. WARNING! Face paint may be involved. This will help develop confidence with portraits, allow us to work as a group and make new friends, and introduce some basic human geometry. The afternoon session will focus more on creating a painted portrait in acrylic paints on stretched canvas. By spending the whole day the students will get a greater understanding of portraiture and also have time to experiment and play with the mediums. We will also investigate other forms of portraiture such as Manga, Kawaii, and caricatures. And at the workshop's completion students should have a finished painting ready to hang on the wall.
