Service Description

Primary Colours is a fully stocked and functional Art studio. All materials and the use of the studio's equipment is included in the cost. A healthy snack will also be provided during this workshop. Bathroom and kitchen facilities are on site and there is a plumbed water trough dedicated to art mess. First Aid is on site and Andrew is a fully qualified, registered, and practicing teacher. ABSTRACT PAINTING If anyone asks you what your abstract painting is a picture of or why it is good, they don't get it. Abstract Art is a vulnerable place where you put your feelings on display to be analysed and critiqued by others. Thankfully young people are comfortable at expressing themselves in this way which is why abstract is a great way to get kids involved in the painting process without feeling judged on technique or subject matter. In this workshop we will experiment with colour mixing, paint application, and composition. We'll try and solve the problem of when to stop the process, before it gets too muddy. And we'll look at the emotional value of colour; how do different colours make you feel? There'll be a lot of messy play, a lot of fun, and a lot of learning.
